2013 Dodge Journey vs. 2013 Ford Explorer

2013 Dodge Journey- A vehicle cant just win SUV of the year for no reason can it. Time to see weather the new dodge journey deserves the award it recieved.

Engines - Dodge offers 2 engines in the new journey. They offer a 2.4L inline 4 that has 173hp and gets 26mpg highway and will take you over 500 miles on one tank of gas. The other engine offered is a 3.6L pentastar V-6 that gives 283hp and gets 25mpg highway. I think that there is not enough difference between the two motors to make a difference to get and extra mile to the gallon with the inline and to loose over 100hp you would be crazy not to get the 3.6.

Cost- The basic new 2013 journey starts out at around $20,000. For a more luxurious vehicle the price tops out at around $34,500.

Interior and Exterior- The new journey does not have many options for its interior. Of course theres the premium leather option or cloth option just like in almost every car. Theres also the touch screen nav and radio option or the standard radio also available in most cars. A moonroof or sunroof is also available. For the exterior there are the paint choices. The journey has a five star crash rating and is a very safe suv. Most people that have driven them say that they ride like a cloud and are very comfortable but could use more leg room but leg room is made up with the third row seating for seven.

My Opinion- In my opinion the dodge journey is a very good and very dependable suv. I guess that it does deserve the suv of the year for its dependability and quality but I think it should have more available options.

2013 Ford Explorer- The ford explorer has been around for a long time and has not changed at all except for recently but were these changes for the better or worse?

Engines- Ford offers 3 engines for thier new explorer. A 2.0L inline ecoboost is offered that gets 20mpg and 28 mpg highway. A 3.5L V-6 with ecoboost is offer that gets 16 city and 22 highway mpg. The 3.5L with out ecoboost and 350hp gets 17 city and 23 highway. All three of these motors are great motors but the 3.5L V-6 is definatly better than the 3.5L ecoboost because it gets better mileage and it costs less with more horsepower.

Cost-  A basic explorer will start around $29,500 and a explorer sport will go up to around $50,000 with about everything you can think of put into it. The explorers laid out sport edition is pricey but you get what you pay for.

Interior and Exterior-  The ford explorer has more unique options for the interior. The my ford touch is much different than dodges uconnect and it can do more. Ford has many more interior colors for their leather and a more unique style. The explorer also has the option of a third row seating like the journey does. Also like the journey the explorer has had very good saftey reveiws and is very comfortable and has a nice ride.

My Opinion- The ford explorer is a great suv and has been around for a long time. It has come along way since it first started. The ford explorers new changes are definatly improvements becuase before them it was not a very good car. Between the journey and the explorer I think there both great suvs and both worth the money.

2013 Challenger vs 2013 Mustang

Dodge Challenger- The all new 2013 dodge challenger is one sweet fast car for the money. Should the challenger deserve all the hype that the legendary ford mustang gets?

Engines- There are four engines available for the new challenger. Of course theres the standard 5.7 hemi with 375hp and a six speed transmission. Also available is the 5.7 hemi with fuel saver technology. Dodge also offers a pentastar V-6 that can pull 27mpg highway. For the people that like the real powerhouse engines there is a 6.4L hemi SRT-8 with 470hp that can hit 60mph in under 4sec.

Cost- The 2013 dodge challenger starts out at around $29,500. The most luxurious and fastest model: the SRT8 starts out at around $50,000 with almost everything you can think of put into it including that monster of an engine 6.4 Hemi.

Interior and Exterior- Just like most cars the challenger has a wide variety of the way the interior can look. Almost always it has standard leather seats but also available are two tone matching racing seats with the outside of the car. Many different color schemes are availabe for the entire interor, usually coordinating with the exterior. Of course also availabe is the touch screen navigation and radio. Also available is the standard radio. Depending on what model of the challenger you purchase the exterior could be a little different. Lower end models are just usually just standard 1 color and normal body style. Higher end models usually have stripes and decals such as the R/T and also have a sleeker body for areodynamics.

My Opinion- Being a dodge owner and buyer this is one of my dream cars. I would love to have the Redline R/T with the 6.4 hemi. I really like the body syle and the options available in this car. I would take this over the chevy and ford compition but im not saying its the best, Ford and chevy both have great cars that would definatly give this car great compition.

2013 Ford Mustang- Unlike the challenger, the Ford mustang can be identified by almost anyone weather they know their cars or not. The mustang is just a more popular and more hyped up car. But is it overrated?

Engines- There are 3 engines offered in the 2013 mustangs. The lowend mustang gets a V-6 that puts out 305hp and gets up to 29mpg highway. The middle class mustang gets a good sized 5.0L V-8 with arounnd 420 horsepower. The 2013 Shelby GT-500 gets a special treat for an engine, a 5.8L V-8 with a cool 662hp and a top speed of around 205mph that yes could blow a 2013 Dodge Challenger away in race...

Cost- The standard normal mustang starts out around $27,500 with the V-6 and very few other options. The 5.0L V-8 gets a little more pricey starting at around $35,000 but with a few more options. Now for that 5.8L monster I told you about. The 2013 Shelby GT-500 with 662 hp and anyother option you can think of will cost you around $68,000, but you get what you pay for with this beast.

Interior and Exterior- Much like the challenger and other cars the mustangs can have many different looks. The lower end mustangs will get cloth seats, standard radios, and few other options. The higher end mustangs will get two tone leather racing seats, touch screen nav and radio, climate control and alot of other bells and whistles. The exterior options are also much like that of the challengers. Lower end cars get single color plain paint. Higher end models like the shelby will get decals, stripes, custom bodies, and two tone leather to go with the two tone outside gloss or metallic paint.

My Opinion-  Ford really outdid themselves with this car. There are many great features and options available, not to metion everyone would hear you before they see you if you had that GT-500. This is a great car and gives alot of compition to dodges challenger and chevys camaro. The answer to the previous question of the mustang being overrated is definatly a no. Like I said before its a great car and one I would love to own. I still like dodge better though, and I always will.
